YeeHaw! Grab your cowboy hat and boots and get ready to enjoy this hearty meal with dad!

Are you struggling for a gift idea for your dad this Father's Day because the man already has it all? How about inviting him over for dinner and knocking his socks off with this delicious steak and cowboy butter recipe? Served with some mashed potatoes and roasted veggies, this meal will more than make Dad feel like the king that he is!

Cast Iron Skillet Steaks with Cowboy Butter

Ingredients:

2 steaks (Ribeye, Sirloin or Filet Mignon) cut 1 ¼” thick
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cayenne
2 tablespoons olive oil

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees on Bake (or Roast setting if your oven has it). Let steaks come to room
temperature. Mix all seasonings together and gently rub into steaks, coating both sides. Heat up a cast
iron {or other oven-safe) skillet over medium high heat. Add olive oil, and once it begins to smoke, add
steaks. Allow steaks to sear for 1 1/2 minutes on each side. Do not pick up steaks, or move them around
in the pan during the searing process. Once both sides have been seared, place into the oven for about
6-7 minutes to finish cooking. This timing is for a medium-rare steak. If you like your steak more well
done, add 3-4 minutes of cooking time.

Cowboy Butter

Ingredients:

½ cup unsalted butter, room temperature
1 teaspoon lemon zest
½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 large clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon shallot, minced
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 pinch cayenne pepper or crushed red pepper (like it hot? use both!)
¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
1 tablespoon finely chopped parsley
1 tablespoon finely chopped chives
1 teaspoon thyme, finely chopped
¼ teaspoon sea salt
¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Mix all ingredients together and allow to sit in the refrigerator for at least an hour. Scoop out 1-2
tablespoons and top steaks before devouring!
