Newport Harbor High School Honors their 7th Hall of Fame Class

By: Kym Whitney

The tradition of the Hall of Fame at Newport Harbor High School began in June 2014 with the induction of its first Class of Alumni and Faculty by the Newport Harbor High School Alumni Association. Over the years, the Hall of Fame has honored a diverse spectrum of individuals, including exceptional athletes, brave military personnel, innovative scientists, dedicated public servants, talented artists, writers, and actors, as well as cherished teachers, coaches, and administrators. These individuals embody the cherished values of the alma mater, emphasizing good citizenship and a commitment to serving others.

This year's event took place on April 25th outside under the tower for a meet-and-greet accompanied by live music. Following this, guests were treated to an evening filled with Sailor spirit. Serving as the master of ceremonies for the evening was Alex Crawford, Class of 2009. Additionally, three esteemed past Hall of Fame members, Mr. Joe Robinson, Gregg Schwenk, Class of 1986, and Misty May-Treanor, Class of 1995, were present to introduce their new fellow honorees.
