I had the opportunity to embark on an extraordinary multi-generational adventure with my family to the Four Seasons Punta Mita. With just a 2-hour and 20-minute direct flight from LAX, this destination quickly became our top choice, particularly due to the convenience when traveling with young ones.

Set within the private, ultra-luxurious gated community of Punta Mita in the Riviera Nayarit, you will find the Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita. With its luxurious accommodations, diverse dining options, and endless activities, this iconic resort is a must for families seeking a place to relax.

Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita offers a sanctuary of tranquility and luxury. With its recent multi-million-dollar renovation, the resort boasts newly refurbished guestrooms, suites, and private villas, each exuding modern Mexican charm and elegance.

Upon arrival at the Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, guests are greeted with warm Mexican hospitality that sets the tone for a memorable stay. The resort's attentive staff ensures a seamless check-in process, allowing an effortless transition to unwind in the tranquil surroundings. Come with your loved ones; their warm "mi casa, su casa" approach welcomes you to experience genuine Mexican hospitality firsthand.

Luxurious accommodations for all ages in mind

We received a warm welcome with signature drinks, instantly making us feel part of the family. Lalo guided us on a golf cart with our bags to our room, and he shared valuable local and resort insights. The journey to our accommodation was stunning, and just when we thought it couldn't get any better, we were amazed by our Garden View Suite with a private plunge pool. The master bedroom connects to a second bedroom through a terrace. The extended terrace provides extra seating, creating a cozy open-air living space. Not to mention the highlight: our private plunge pool is heated to a comfortable 85 degrees. We spent most of our downtime splashing around as a family here. This ground-floor suite offers 2,270 sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor space, featuring two king beds, or one king bed or two double beds, one rollaway bed, one crib, and a queen sofa bed. The occupancy allows for six guests, including up to five children.

Families at the Four Seasons Punta Mita have an array of room options. From spacious ocean-view suites to luxurious private villas, there is a lodging option to suit your every need. Each room is thoughtfully designed with elegant decor, modern amenities, and breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean or lush tropical gardens.

After settling into the accommodations, families can explore the resort's extensive amenities and activities or dive into its incredible culinary experiences. From pristine beaches to infinity pools overlooking the ocean, there is no shortage of opportunities for relaxation, great dining, and fun.

The kids voted on a family afternoon at the lazy river as our first activity. As expected, it quickly became a favorite spot. The lazy river is expansive, offering a serene float through the tropical surroundings. It was never overly crowded, allowing us to easily secure loungers right along the riverbank and providing plenty of room to float together.

Adults can unwind at the Tamai Pool, which is surrounded by luxurious amenities and private cabanas. Following recent renovations to the property, one highlight is the Nuna Pool. This free-form infinity-edge oasis boasts breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. The heated pool includes shallow areas for children to play and a spacious hot tub for relaxation.

A highlight for children ages 5 to 12 is The Kids For All Seasons Club, designed to engage and delight young visitors. It features a playroom, outdoor playground, and supervised program. Families can enjoy the game room, with various entertainment options open throughout the day. At the same time, teen guests can head to ‘The Container’ for video games, virtual reality experiences, and a comfortable theater.

Sports enthusiasts can enjoy tennis lessons, water activities like surfing and snorkeling, and exclusive experiences such as the Four Seasons Explorer cruise. For golfers, the resort offers exclusive access to two world-class courses designed by Jack Nicklaus. Tee off against breathtaking backdrops and test your skills on the legendary Tail of the Whale, the world's only natural island green.

Additionally, a diverse range of programming is offered, from sea turtle release events to tequila blending and cultural workshops. Complimentary activities include non-motorized water sports, snorkeling tours, nature walks, and cultural experiences like Huichol workshops and spirit tastings. Whether seeking adventure or relaxation, the Four Seasons Punta Mita provides a comprehensive array of activities to suit every guest's preferences.

Diverse Culinary Delights

One of the highlights of a trip to Punta Mita is the chance to savor the region's vibrant culinary scene. The Four Seasons Resort is home to a diverse selection of restaurants and bars, each offering a unique dining experience. Guests can embark on a culinary journey through Mexico with authentic dishes crafted by the resort's talented chefs.

On our first evening, we savored a delightful meal at Aramarita. Drawing upon extensive research and a deep dive into Asian culinary traditions from Hong Kong, Thailand, and beyond, the restaurant seamlessly blends authentic expertise with locally sourced ingredients. This fusion creates an unforgettable dining experience that harmonizes global flavors with the freshness of the region's bounty.

Insider tip: Don't miss out on the incredible Bao buns and the interactive dining experience with the hot rocks and marinated New York strips with house sauce. Their stir-fried noodles are ideal for sharing and are available in beef, chicken, shrimp, or pork belly options. Finish off your meal with one of their delectable soufflés; the special orange-flavored soufflé paired with coffee ice cream is a definite highlight not to be missed.

For a more romantic setting, Bahía by Richard Sandoval is a must. Offering a quintessential beachside dining experience, the aroma of freshly grilled meats, seafood, and vegetables adds to its charm. The proximity to the beach makes it a popular destination for couples to watch the sunset while dining. We indulged in the Zarandeado Fish and Surf n’ Turf; both dishes were absolutely incredible! We enjoyed Bahia so much that we returned on our final night with the kids specifically for their Chocolate Bomba, a must-try dessert resembling a chocolate piñata ball filled with Fruit Jelly, Brownie, Berries, Mango, Chocolate, & Raspberry Sauce, and Spiced Mexican Chocolate Mousse.

Our favorite breakfast spot was Dos Catrina’s, situated at the heart of the resort with ocean views. This chic restaurant blends traditional Mexican cuisine with a modern twist. Insider Tip: Try the Chilaquiles.

The Four Seasons also offers guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in local food through experiences such as cooking classes to learn Mexican cuisine's secrets, making Mexican chocolate, or even participating in a tequila tasting.

Rejuvenating Spa Experiences

Another highlight of the resort is the Apuane Spa, where guests can unwind with a personalized treatment designed to soothe the mind, body, and soul. Whether you're enjoying a massage, a facial, or a mommy-and-me spa day, the spa offers relaxation and rejuvenation. The Apuane Spa pays homage to the diverse cultural heritage of pre-Hispanic Mexico by incorporating traditional herbal remedies and therapeutic ingredients. Utilizing local flora, such as the copal tree, nopal cactus, and agave plant, in combination with myofascial massage techniques, the spa offers personalized treatments administered by skilled and compassionate therapists. The spa’s extensive facilities include a pediluvium, cold and hot water pools, sauna and steam rooms, and relaxation areas, ensuring a complete revitalizing and restorative experience. Moreover, adding enhanced fitness amenities and group classes further enriches the wellness offerings at the Four Seasons Punta Mita.

My 5-year-old daughter and I experienced our first spa day together. It was magical. We were warmly welcomed into a peaceful waiting room with coloring books, crayons, wholesome snacks, and engaging activities tailored for children. My daughter indulged in a delightful 25-minute marshmallow massage, followed by an embellished hair treatment that included hair braiding and sparkling adornments. Her sheer delight and excitement were evident as she beamed throughout the treatment. Meanwhile, I enjoyed a relaxing 50-minute personalized massage. I melted into the treatment table, letting go of any pre-travel stress I had. It was truly special that we were together in the same beautiful treatment room and could share this memorable time.

As a family, we cherished two activities: shore fishing and painting beach hats using traditional Mexican techniques. These experiences united us in shared enjoyment and bonding moments amidst the beauty of our surroundings.
