CEO of Marque Medical, better known to the community as Marque Urgent Care, Pierre Bergougnan, grew up in Laguna Beach and attended school at El Moro and Thurston, then Rancho Santa Margarita Catholic School for high school, where he enjoyed playing tennis and soccer. His sister lives with her husband and two children in San Juan Capistrano, and his mother still resides in Laguna Beach. Pierre attended undergrad in San Diego and received his graduate degree at USC (Fight On!) He met his wife, Jody, at USC, and they both have lived in Newport Beach since 2010. Pierre and Jody absolutely love the community and are “blessed to have such great friends and family” in their lives. Their children, Jacques (12) and Josephine (10) attend school locally, and have had many wonderful years growing up in Newport Beach. “Newport is a very special place for us, and we consider ourselves extremely fortunate to be part of this tight-knit community,” says Pierre.

Speaking of community, Pierre’s neighbor, Dr. Lynn Stanton, was a friend of the family and also Pierre’s primary care doctor. Dr. Lynn Stanton was the founder of Newport Walk-in by Fashion Island, which he opened in the mid-80s - well ahead of his time for immediate care medicine. As Dr. Lynn approached retirement, he asked Pierre if he would be interested in growing the business that he was so passionate about. Pierre was honored to continue the tradition and thrilled to step into his new role as CEO. Newport Walk-in eventually took on the new name, Marque Urgent Care, in 2010. Dr. Stanton continued to serve his patients as the Medical Director for the first few years. Although he has since passed to a better place, his passion and love of medicine have inspired Marque Urgent Care to continue his legacy of meaningful, compassionate care.

What Does the Business Provide the Community?

Marque Urgent Care provides an exceptional medical service to the community. Having roots in Newport Beach, it’s especially humbling that close friends and family entrust their care to the practice, and their growth has been based on repeating the same level of care throughout all of their Southern California locations. Not only is immediate care available, but also wellness and well-being choices for patients covered by nearly any insurance plan. Thanks to the partnership with Children’s Hospital of Orange County, families have the opportunity to consult a CHOC pediatrician at specific Marque locations or virtually from home. Efforts are consistently directed towards enhancing accessibility to excellent care and facilitating a way to get people back to their normal lives quickly. The headquarters of Marque Urgent Care is situated near MacArthur and Jamboree, and the talented, local employees manage all the business's support services in-house.

Milestones

Marque Urgent Care has expanded to offer services throughout Orange County, San Diego, Riverside, and Los Angeles, and in addition, provides a large virtual online platform to customers.

They have been voted Orange County's "Best of OC for Urgent Care"

Pierre has been named a Distinguished Leader in his community by the Orange County Register

Marque Urgent Care received a "Top 3 Innovation Award" in 2020 by the Association for Corporate Growth.

Giving Back

Marque Urgent Care is involved with various community events such as the Corona del Mar 5k and The Christmas Walk. Additionally, Marque supports the Wounded Warrior Project, a nonprofit that helps veterans and active duty service members get back on their feet, and also contributes to Team Impact, supporting struggling military families during the holidays.
