Reality Life with Kate Casey is Worth the Listen
Searching for a new podcast featuring interviews with the most interesting people in reality television and documentaries to add to your repertoire? Or maybe you need someone to guide you through what's worth watching each week. If you haven’t heard of Reality Life with Kate Casey, it’s time to join millions of listeners, and download one of the most addictive, Top 1% Podcasts on iTunes in the TV & Film category, devoted to unscripted television.
Host Kate Casey is originally from the Philadelphia suburbs. She attended Milton Hershey School in Hershey, Pennsylvania, a school created by the chocolate magnate for underprivileged children. After graduating from Trinity College in Washington DC, she began a career in media consulting, which eventually brought her to the west coast. Later, she met her husband and their family has since expanded with five children—four girls and one boy.
While her early career was in global media strategy at law firms, Kate had a lifelong love of television. Six years ago, she approached a podcast network with a pitch—she wanted to track down people that made or starred in reality shows, to see how it changed the trajectory of their life. It has since expanded to covering the real stories of people featured on reality shows, documentaries, and in docuseries. Now she is the go-to person for what to watch each week.
Kate’s superior recall for details about people lends itself perfectly to the art of interviewing guests. Four times a week, she speaks with directors, producers, hosts, and the talent from the most talked about reality shows, docuseries, and documentaries. She has an extraordinary range covering everything from sports docuseries to true crime to cults.
These interesting interactions culminate in her Reality Life podcast, which—in Kate’s own words—serves as “a guide to the best in unscripted television.” The podcast has been featured in publications like Newsweek, Time, People, US Magazine, Buzzfeed, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, New York Post, and the Daily Mail.
“I love real stories about real people,” Kate explains. “I get to interview the most interesting people, uncover stories never or rarely told, and dive deep into a subject's personal story… I work with great television and streaming networks who graciously send me content before they premiere.”
Kate manages to balance hosting one of iTunes’ highest-rated podcasts with her role as a mother of five. “If you love to do something, you can make time for it.”
Kate is also a US Weekly Fashion Police weekly critic and is involved in producing. When she’s not recording a new podcast or performing live, Kate loves to spend time with her family and friends, participating in her children’s hobbies, or enjoying a nice dinner with her husband.
