The Holiday Swap by Maggie Knox

It’s officially December, and it's finally time for all things hot chocolate, mistletoes, and pretty lights. I’m a reader who loves to dive into books based on the season, and this book was the perfect one to crack open! Also? this is NOT me realizing that having an identical twin sister might just solve A LOT of my problems…ok ok ok…I know that’s not how it works. But one can dream…and after reading this book, dream I will!!

The Holiday Swap by Maggie Knox is like all of the Hallmark movie’s we legit cannot stop watching no matter how hard (or how little) we try! It’s a fun, clean, sister-drama/rom com and it completely made me smile the whole time!

After getting hit on the head on the set of her reality TV show in L.A., Chef Charlie Goodwin loses her consciousness and MORE—her ability to taste and smell. How is she now able to judge on her baking show? Charlie has an identical twin, Cass, who still lives in their cute mountain hometown and is desperately trying to hold her own life together while running the family's busy and famous bakery while their parents are on vacation. And to top it off, she’s also dealing with her ex who just can’t get it through his head that they're over.

Completely desperate, and with only days until Christmas, Charlie asks Cass to do something they haven't done since they were kids—switch places. As crazy as it sounds, Cass agrees if only because she’s desperate to escape! I mean, what could go wrong with temporarily trading lives? Lots, as it turns out. Insert rugged firefighter Jake Greenman and gorgeous physician assistant Miguel Rodriguez into the mix. The twins are now living each other’s lives while also dealing with their own personal drama and lying to everyone around them the whole time.

So, grab your hot chocolate, put on your coziest jammies, light the fireplace and get lost in this book because you need to pick it up to find out what happens!

Other Holiday Book Recommendations

The Matzah Ball by Jean Meltzer – This is another fun and clean holiday novel and is more just your everyday rom-con! A Jewish novelist has been keeping two secrets from her family. First, she is Christmas obsessed, and secondly, she is a famous Christmas rom-com writer who may just lose her contract if she doesn’t write a Jewish rom-com. Rachel gets more than what she bargained for while attending a Matza Ball to get her creative juices flowing…it also leads her to meet someone and remember her roots along the way.

Hailey Haddie’s Minute Mysteries: Christmas Edition by Marina J. Bowman – This is a fun one for all ages! Who stole Santa’s hot chocolate? Read the clues and solve the mystery! Each mystery is about 400 words and takes about one minute to solve. Even my non-reader gets into it when we read as a family, and the pictures are so much fun!

 Happy Reading & Happy Holidays!
