From Georgia to California, From Private Chef to Charcuterie Aficionado

Loryn Purvis grew up in Georgia and married B.J., her high school sweetheart. After graduating college, the couple moved to Orange County, and Loryn began her culinary journey by commuting to the San Diego Culinary Institute and ultimately graduating in 2011.  She then apprenticed at the Surf and Sand Resort in Laguna Beach before becoming a private chef and cooking instructor. Along the way, she dreamed of starting a charcuterie business.

Loryn often created charcuterie boxes for her and B.J. to take down to the beach to watch the sunset, all while thinking everyone else needed this too. Then, when the 2020 Covid-19 shutdowns happened, her charcuterie dream was born out of passion and necessity. Loryn couldn’t work as a cooking instructor, and her husband, B.J.'s business was shuttered, so that same year, the couple decided to take a leap of faith, and the Picnic Grazing Co. was created. It quickly became one of the first brands to inspire the worldwide "graze craze." Since starting the business two years ago, Picnic Grazing Co. has brought Loryn so much happiness, and it excites her every day to know her creations are responsible for brightening someone's day.

The next time you have a special gathering or event, Picnic Grazing Co. would love to help you execute your vision. The busy holiday season is approaching, so be sure to get in touch with Loryn and her team soon!
