Teri Hardke Real Estate: A Tradition of Excellence in Newport Beach
By: Amanda Huntsman
Teri Hardke Real Estate is more than just a business—it’s a legacy rooted in dedication and passion for the community. Teri Hardke’s journey in real estate began long before she became a renowned name in the area. Her story traces back to her father, who founded Armstrong Properties in 1963. It was here, at just 11 years old, that Teri first set foot into the world of real estate, working in her father's office and learning the ropes of the industry. By the time she was 18, she had already earned her real estate license and embarked on what would become a long and successful career.
In 1996, alongside her late husband, Teri purchased Armstrong Properties from her father, eventually transitioning it into a Coldwell Banker Realty office. Over the years, Teri opened a local office on Santa Barbara and Jamboree, managing a team of 11 female Realtors. Today, she continues to lead the way, not only through her real estate practice but also as the owner of Armstrong Escrow, which services escrows across Southern California.
What sets Teri Hardke Real Estate apart is her personalized approach to helping clients buy and sell homes. Teri emphasizes that buying or selling a home is far more than just a financial transaction—it’s an emotional and life-changing event. She takes pride in ensuring that her clients are well-served and feel a sense of excitement and anticipation for the next chapter of their lives. With decades of experience, Teri has honed her problem-solving skills, managing even the most complex transactions with ease and grace. Her clients benefit from her vast industry knowledge, which allows her to navigate challenges with poise, making the process as smooth as possible.
Teri’s philosophy is simple yet powerful: every client, no matter their budget or location, deserves exceptional service. This dedication to excellence has earned her the trust and loyalty of clients, many of whom have returned to her over the years, often referring their children and grandchildren for help with their own real estate needs. While her specialty lies in luxury Coastal Orange County real estate—covering areas such as Newport Beach, Corona del Mar, One Ford Road and Belcourt—Teri’s expertise extends to all of Orange County, including Costa Mesa, Irvine, Aliso Viejo and beyond.
Her inspiration comes from her father, who instilled in her the values that have shaped her career.
“Always put the client’s best interest above all else,” Teri recalls, a lesson that has remained at the forefront of her business, along with practicing “The Golden Rule”.
This commitment to serving her clients has brought numerous accolades, including the honor of being named the #1 Coldwell Banker Small Team in the nation in 2019. Yet, for Teri, the real reward comes in the form of the long-lasting relationships she’s built with her clients, many of whom she now considers friends.
Beyond her professional achievements, Teri enjoys an active and fulfilling life outside of real estate. She cherishes time with her family, especially her two granddaughters, Lucy and Layla. Her son, Matt, is also making his mark in real estate as a commercial broker and co-founder of Little Lido Boat Co., a fun alternative to traditional electric boats. When not working, Teri loves being outdoors, whether boating, golfing, walking, or even learning pickleball. She’s an active member of her community, involved in organizations such as Mariner’s Church, Newport Beach Country Club, Balboa Yacht Club, Newport Beach Yacht Club, American Legion and the Elks Club. She's also involved in local social committees in her One Ford Road and Bayside Cove neighborhoods.
Rounding out her real estate team are Sally Ellis, a seasoned luxury agent of 20 years who specializes in first-time home buyers in our surrounding communities such as Costa Mesa, Aliso Viejo, Irvine, Huntington Beach and more; as well as Megan DeRisio, who also lives in One Ford Road, and whose extensive knowledge and flair for home design are a huge asset to the team. Finally, Teri’s son, Matt, is an accomplished commercial Realtor with Greystone, who boasts commercial sales everywhere from the Peninsula and Lido all the way out to shopping centers in Palm Springs! Matt also has been involved in the start up of the Little Lido Boat Company - his love of real estate and boating are in his genes!
Teri’s deep connection to the community extends to her charitable efforts, where she has contributed to groups such as the Junior League, Women’s Philanthropy Group and various USC alumni organizations. Her commitment to giving back is just one more reason why she’s such a respected and cherished figure in the real estate scene.
Teri Hardke Real Estate is a community pillar, blending decades of experience with an unwavering commitment to helping clients achieve their dreams. Whether finding a dream home or guiding a family through the complexities of selling, Teri is there every step of the way, ensuring that each experience is as seamless and rewarding as possible.
