Shine Candle Co. began in 2020 when its founder, Jessi O'Donnell, discovered she was pregnant with her son, Jackson. Eager to find a way to work from home and spend more time with her growing family, she turned to candle-making. What started as a creative outlet quickly became a full-fledged business, officially launching in January 2021. The journey has been nothing short of a blessing, allowing her to combine her love for her work with the joy of being present for her children.

Looking ahead, Shine Candle Co. has big plans. Jessi and her team dream of expanding the brand's reach nationally, with the goal of seeing Shine candles in major retailers like Nordstrom and Bloomingdale's. Locally, there's hope to feature the candles at Roger's Gardens during the holiday season. There's even the possibility of opening a storefront, envisioned as an elegant space for events like wedding showers and birthdays.
A Love for Orange County and a Heart for Community
Living in Orange County for most of her life, Jessi, a proud graduate of CDM High, has developed a deep appreciation for the lifestyle and beauty that define this unique area. "There is always so much to do and many great places to eat, see, and experience. We are incredibly blessed to live in such a beautiful place, surrounded by wonderful things and inspiring people," she says.
One of the aspects Jessi cherishes most is the sense of community. "It feels like such a tight-knit community where everyone wants to help build each other up, especially in support of small businesses. It's one of my favorite things about living here."
Outside of work, Jessi enjoys coffee or lunch dates and spending quality time with her family. "My favorite thing is hanging out with my honey and our two boys. We love experiencing new things, trying new food spots, and indulging in our favorites. We also enjoy spending time outdoors, especially at the beach, and have found a new love for glamping."
Jessi's commitment to her community extends beyond her daily life. She is a passionate supporter of Laura's House, an organization dedicated to helping women and families who are victims of domestic violence. "The cause hits close to home and I just have a heart for women and children in any emotionally or physically abusive situations," she shares, emphasizing her deep connection to the cause.
