The Bizzy Bag for Busy Families
As parents of toddlers, local resident Lauren Radie and her sister-in-law Heather Rzepiennik were tired of spending money on a nice evening out but having to rush the meal to either get back to a sitter on the clock or to avoid a meltdown. Crayons and sugar packets weren’t cutting it, and the guilt of the screen time sunk too deep – something had to be done! So, they started creating their own "busy bags" to keep their kids busy and realized the availability of these activities right at the restaurant was the key – and out of that idea, they came up with The Bizzy Bag and in 2020 launched their business!
The Bizzy Bag is screen-free entertainment for kids! Each bag contains 3-4 STEM-based toys, an anti-bacterial wipe, a small healthy snack (sourced at local snack company, Spudsy in Costa Mesa) and a table talk/trivia card. The Bizzy Bag is designed for 30+ minutes of independent play for ages three and up.
Bizzy Bag's mission is for parents to enjoy their evening out or to entertain the littles in situations like long waits at the doctor's office or when traveling. Leave the tablet and babysitter behind! Get to know your kiddos with the Table Talk card, let them explore the educational STEM-based toys while you enjoy your meal, and let them engage in independent play while you have an adult conversation or watch the big game.
The Bizzy Bag is now available nationwide at restaurants, breweries, wineries, car dealerships, real estate and escrow offices, and retail locations. Shop locally at The General Store, Five Crowns/Side Door, Beach Pit BBQ, and The VI, and 501 Park Ave on Balboa Island, to name a few. You can also purchase directly on www.thebizzybag.com. They ship globally, and orders can be picked up at their Newport Beach warehouse.
