A slice of European elegance is coming to Newport Beach as CasaDamí prepares to officially open its doors on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at the newly renovated Peninsula Village. Helmed by partners Camilla Caremoli and Dave Shah, CasaDamí promises an intimate and refined café and wine bar experience inspired by the European concept of La Dolce Vita.

Located within Newport Beach’s vibrant coastal destination, Peninsula Village, CasaDamí is reminiscent of an all-day European café, where coastal charm meets luxurious design. Guests will be welcomed by interiors featuring a custom 15-seat bar crafted from Italian marble, Italian white oak flooring in an elegant herringbone pattern, and plush banquette seating enveloped by a custom wood panel arch. The expansive patio, seating 40, is draped with florals evocative of the Italian countryside, creating an idyllic space for alfresco dining.

"At CasaDamí, our vision was to create a space that feels like an extension of the European lifestyle—where friends gather over exceptional food, thoughtfully chosen wines, and a perfectly crafted coffee, from morning until night. We want every guest to feel transported, as though they are dining in their favorite corner of Italy, Spain, or France, while still embracing the charm of Newport Beach," says Camilla Caremoli, co-owner of CasaDamí.

CasaDamí will offer counter service during lunch hours, providing a relaxed yet efficient experience with offerings such as freshly baked pastries, vibrant salads, shareable charcuterie and tapas, and exceptional coffee offerings. Coffee selections include classics such as cappuccinos and cortados, alongside specialty espresso options like the Marocchino, blended with Nutella, and an Affogato. These offerings seamlessly tie into CasaDamí’s all-day European café concept, inviting guests to savor a perfect coffee experience from morning through evening. Crafted with premium beans sourced from Brazil and Central America, every cup will be brewed using a state-of-the-art Rocket Espresso machine, handmade in Milan, reflecting CasaDamí’s commitment to quality and precision.

In the evening, the lights dim as CasaDamí transforms into full service, where guests can enjoy a thoughtfully curated menu of small plates and exceptional wines. Designed to be shared, the tapas-inspired menu offers Charcuterie Boards in a variety of sizes, crispy Papas Bravas topped with vibrant salsa brava and tangy aioli. Additional highlights include the Bikini Toast with jamon serrano and smoky San Simón cheese, tender Chicken Milanese Bites served with a zesty dipping sauce, and an indulgent Grueyere Fondue.

The wine program at CasaDamí is a celebration of European excellence, curated personally by co-owner and wine collector Dave Shah. Thoughtfully selected to complement the small plates menu, the list elevates the dining experience with wines that pair beautifully with CasaDamí's apertivo-style offerings. Inspired by Shah's own personal cellar, the list showcases prestigious labels from iconic wine regions such as Tuscany, Piedmont, Bordeaux, and Burgundy, as well as labels from California’s renowned Napa, Sonoma, and Central Coast regions. Highlights include legendary Super Tuscans such as Tignanello, Sassicaia, and Guado al Tasso, alongside French classics like Château Margaux and Domaine Faiveley Corton-Charlemagne. With a Coravin system in place, guests can savor exceptional wines by the glass, such as Caymus and Gaja Barolo, offering a taste of luxury without the commitment of a full bottle.

Peninsula Village, the restaurant’s home, is a vibrant coastal community blending luxury living, dining, and social experiences. With its prime waterfront location, CasaDamí stands out as a unique addition, offering an elevated café and wine bar experience that captures the charm of European all-day dining.
