The Loss of a Great Neighbor

We are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of Coach Tim "TJ" Hicks, a man who dedicated his life to coaching and mentoring young athletes. He tragically passed away on the field while doing what he loved. His passing has left a void in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
With nearly a decade of coaching, Coach Hicks was an exceptional coach who touched the lives of countless young athletes, volunteering his time to mentor and inspire, even after his own kids no longer played. He volunteered to coach multiple teams, and his unwavering dedication left an indelible mark on our community. He was a true football enthusiast and loved to share his experiences and knowledge with the players he coached. He earned immense respect for his steadfast love of football and his commitment to the sport. His remarkable contribution towards promoting inclusivity in the football community cannot be overlooked. Coach Hicks volunteered to coach an all-girls flag football team in our local community, showcasing his dedication to breaking barriers and promoting gender equality in sports.
We want to acknowledge the enduring legacy that Coach Hicks leaves behind. Born in West Virginia, Coach Hicks was a former football player at Virginia Tech and pursued a career as an engineer post-college. He is survived by his wife Cindy, sons Jackson and Sam, mother Melinda, and sister Amy. The impact that Coach Hicks had on numerous players is immeasurable, and we want to honor him for his remarkable contribution to shaping the future of young athletes.
